OK, you've answered my question. Take me back to the armorial.
Who's devices are you willing to put on this page?
Anybody who is or has been an active participant in any group in the Midlands region for a significant ammount of time. A guy who did TDY at Scott Air Force base for two months and went to a handfull of Shattered Crystal fighters practices would not make the cut. Sir Kaydian and Mistress Cassandra would, even though they're currently Northshield.
I have some artwork - what format should I send it in?
Gifs and Jpegs are both good. Bitmaps (BMP) files tend to be obscenely large. If all you have is a bitmap, and you have no way to convert it to another format, crop the image so that all you are sending is the heraldic device.
If I don't have an AoA, will you still include my device?
This project is not really award or title driven - in fact, among the people I could see benifitting from it are scribes, who might be busy making your AoA scroll!
There's something wrong with my heraldry / name - how do I get it fixed?
Send me e-mail and either clearly describe the error, or include some sort of sketch showing me what I did wrong.
My device isn't registered. Will you include it.
Short answer - yes.
Long answer - it depends. If your device just hasn't ground through the submission process yet, or it was rejected because someone was in a snit, well, let's just say that I am not the enforcement brance of the college of arms. However, I started this project because I was interested in doing an armorial of heraldry, so if you tell me that your device is Sable, Britteny Spears, afronty, regardant, maintaining a microphone proper" or "I use this abstract squiggle in a shade of blue that can't be seen by the human eye" well, lets just say that I'm doing this for fun and don't have to answer to anybody.
I'd like to stay away from devices that were rejected because they blatantly conflict with other people's devices.
How did you pick the devices you started with?
I did devices I was familiar with, people I knew and simple devices mostly. When I found people's heraldry on the web, that didn't hurt either, though I had to modify it for my format.
Why just Midlands devices?
Because the Midrealm is big and I am but mortal. I'd love to see someone out there do a similar page for other regions of the kingdom and would gleefully link to them.
Is it OK if I use your artwork for my webpage?
Sure. Use it for whatever you want, just respect the rights of its bearer. Also, please copy the image to your site, rather than link to it. Bandwith you know.
Yours in Service
The Honourable Serjant Avery Austringer
